One of a kind Electronic Sculpture
RW Grant's Electro-IL Illuminaries are ad-hoc industrial vintage curiosities that utilize modern electronics. For longevity, LEDs are often used in combination with solid-state relays. Other low-voltage electromechanical parts like motors are automatically powered by motion detectors and digital timers that prolong longevity without need for suer replacement.

- Three sides of the obelisk-shaped, for footed mirrored pedestal, run digital sequenced lighting effects.
- In standby mode, a 24 clock on the backside has programmable intervals (currently programmed to run at 30 minute intervals) for a short duration to activate the microwave motion detector.
- If the motion sensor activates during one of the programmed 1 minute intervals, the video player along with sequenced effects will run from start to finish.
- HD video player (with remote) is located on the back of the pedestal to play video, slides, audio files, etc., from a rewritable USB drive.
- Onboard OLED monitor renders videos with superior off-axis display.
- Adjustable pre-amp and power-amp located has controls located on the back which drive a floor-firing subwoofer and 3+3 side stereo speakers illuminated by beat-activated LEDs.
- Vintage nixie-tube sound spectrum meters are mounted on hinged acrylic blocks which have sequenced LED backlighting. These blocks are held by pairs of custom threaded spring cables that have imbedded filament colored LEDs.
- Other LEDs illuminate periodically by solid-state timer-relays throughout the presentation.
- Small Plasma disks and animated LED matrix augment the chrome motorized Sterling-Piston Engine inside base of pedestal.
- Extra motion activated LEDs augment illumination of the engine.
- The pedestal top appears like a beacon. A unique vintage lighting effect within a chrome cage and blue jelly-jar lamp s powered by an I.R. motion detector when the pedestal has also been activated.
- Topside, a vintage digital VBF fluorescent tube clock is under a transparent cover where its own time/date controls are easily accessible. The clock runs continuously when the pedestal is in standby mode.
